Online | Mindfulness Series: The Wisdom of the Body
Part 1 of the Mindfulness Series
Description: Mindfulness is the practice of being present to one’s experience with loving attention, which studies have shown helps reduce stress and promotes wellbeing. This class invites students to get out of their heads and into their bodies. When we learn to be present with and listen to our body we are not going to push ourselves in unhealthy ways and make ourselves sick. This class offers teachings on mindfulness of the body and the wisdom our body holds for our physical, mental and emotional well‐being.
Special Guest Presenter: Bettina Heitmann, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher
Bettina Heitmann is a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, sponsored by the University of California Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced meditation and yoga for 20 years and finds these practices to be hugely beneficial for people living in this fast paced and high stress society. Bettna was a social worker with Child Welfare Services, including the bilingual Adoptions Unit, and non‐profit social service agencies for 13 years. She has a particular interest in bringing mindfulness teachings to benefit Resource parents and children.
