Instructor: Michelle McGowan, Special Education Advocate
Michelle is a dedicated Special Education Advocate with over 20 years of experience supporting students with disabilities, including Autism, ADHD, Dyslexia, Emotional Disturbance, and Intellectual Impairment. She is also involved in the District Attorney’s Juvenile Diversion Initiative, where she works to keep youth diploma-bound, collaborates with schools to overturn expulsions, and empowers parents to understand their children’s educational rights.
Description: Mid-year is the perfect time to evaluate whether your child’s educational plan is working. This workshop helps caregivers understand progress reports, identify when progress may be insufficient, determine when an IEP meeting should be requested, and develop systems for tracking progress and organizing records throughout the year.
