Instructor: Jennifer Barnes, San Diego Youth Services Description: This course is an introduction on the LGBTQ+ population and how toprovide safe, affirmative spaces and support LGBTQ+ youth, families, and caregivers. This introductory training will allow individuals to reflect on their unconscious biases and become familiar with issues effecting the LGBTQ+ individuals in our lives. The LGBTQ+ population is one of the most vulnerable populations due to non‐supportive, even hostile environments in their homes, schools, and communities. ***Please Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom platform. Internet access and access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend. We kindly request that participants avoid using distracting virtual backgrounds. For privacy, we recommend using the blur feature instead. You cannot take this class in a vehicle. The Zoom link to attend this class will be provided via email.
