Isaac Etter is an adoptee and social entrepreneur who was transracially adopted at the age of two. He is the founder of Identity, a startup reimagining post-placement support for adoptive and foster families. Drawing from his lived experience, Isaac creates impactful conversations around race, identity, and adoption, helping parents and child welfare professionals better understand the unique challenges and joys of transracial adoption and fostering.
Description: This powerful and personal conversation features Isaac Etter, transracial adoptee and founder of Identity, as he shares lived experience alongside his adoptive mother. Together, they explore racial identity development, the realities of transracial adoption, and how beliefs and parenting choices shape a child’s sense of self. Participants will gain practical, age-appropriate strategies for supporting identity, navigating difficult conversations about race and belonging, and fostering open, affirming dialogue at every stage of a child’s development.
