Skill Builder Circle- Commitment and love are the foundation, but advanced skills bring stability to the home. The Skill Builder Circle blends expert education with peer-to-peer support. Come share your challenges, celebrate your victories, and learn proven interventions that help heal underlying trauma. Together, we move past trial-and-error parenting into intentional, trauma-informed connections that transform daily struggles into lifelong healing.
Topic: Transitions in the foster care system can be extremely difficult for children. We want to make transitions easier for them to manage. To do this, we need tools and strategies to help them. Through this series on Transitions, we will look at different times of transition in our children’s journey through foster care and learn how we can help make these times of transition easier for our children to navigate.
Coming into Foster Care: This can be one of the hardest transitions, as there is usually little to no warning before it happens. We will look at how to create a space that feels safe and welcoming, as well as managing all the emotions that children will bring with them when they first come into care.
For our training & support meetings, all participants must have their cameras on, regardless of whether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to encourage full engagement and connection among participants, fostering a more supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the sessions.
