Part 2 of the Mindfulness series In this class participants experience how mindfulness of breathing calms the body and mind, bringing a sense of peacefulness into one’s being. Students learn how sustaining one’s attention on the breath connects us to feeling alive, joyful and happy. A private and quiet space is recommended for participation in this class as well as a blanket or yoga mat, chair and loose fitting clothes. Special Guest Presenter: Bettina Heitmann, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Bettina Heitmann is a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Program, sponsored by the University of California Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced meditation and yoga for 20 years and finds these practices to be hugely beneficial for people living in this fast paced and high stress society. Bettna was a social worker with Child Welfare Services, including the bilingual Adoptions Unit, and non‐profit social service agencies for 13 years. She has a particular interest in bringing mindfulness teachings to benefit Resource parents and children.
