Instructor: Darla Henry, PhD, MSW, MRS
Darla L. Henry is a Social Worker, Trainer, Teacher, and Consultant with decades of experience in the child welfare field. Guided by her mission to promote healing and well-being for children, youth, and families, she developed and authored the 3-5-7 Model®, a practice model that supports identity formation and permanency.
Her doctoral research on resilience in maltreated children (Child Welfare, 1999) laid the foundation for her work, helping professionals better understand the lived experiences of children and families engaged in child welfare services. Darla’s extensive background includes work in special needs adoption, foster care, group homes, private clinical practice, and teaching in schools of social work. These diverse experiences continue to shape her philosophies, methods, and training, making her a recognized leader in the field.
Description:The 3-5-7 Model® is a practice that supports the work of children, youth and families in grieving their losses and rebuilding their relationships towards the goals of well-being, safety and permanency. In this session, an overview of the guided and directional approach to engaging children and youth people in grief work and relationship building interactions will be provided. The core components and theoretical foundations of the 3-5-7 Model® will be described. Key principles that frame the practice of the 3-5-7 Model® will be highlighted.
Note: While you are welcome to register for each individual part, if you register for part 1 you will automatically be enrolled in all parts.
