Online | San Diego Foster Parent Association (SDFPA)-Support Group: Child Development Series- o Early Teens (12-14 years)
Meets every 1st Thursday of each month
***No meetings in January, July, and December***
Leader: MaryJo Meer
Topic: It is important to know that developmental milestones are not met by age; they are developed by experiences. For children who have experienced abuse and neglect, emotional, social, cognitive, and physical development may be delayed due to a lack of care and interaction. In this series, we will look at development within 6 age groups. What it should look like, how you can help with development, and the resources available to help.
- Early Teens (12-14 years)- This is a time of many physical, mental, emotional, and social changes. They become more independent, with their own personality and interests, although parents are still very important. Let’s talk about how to meet the needs of our young teens.
