As part of AB 175, the Updated Foster Youth Rights, and Written Directives V.8.0, CA Resource Parents are required to know and provide de‐escalation and harm reduction strategies within their households. Learn how caregivers can utilize effective crisis intervention practices to promote the safety of the children and youth in their care, particularly for targeting dangerous behaviors, including exposure to Commercial Sexual Exploitation (CSEC). Learn about the FURS “Family Urgent Response System”, that is in place to support Resource Families and learn about real harm reduction strategies examples that have been practiced by both presenters on how to best handle stressful situations that may occur in a resource home, including the behaviors of CSEC youth survivor.
