In partnership with the National Conflict Resolution Center Instructors: Representative from National Conflict Resolution Center Description: 70 percent of American adults have experienced some form of traumatic event in their lives. With growing awareness about the scale and scope of traumatic experiences, stakeholders and others are increasingly recognizing the need to be “trauma‐informed.” By the end of this workshop participants will have the ability to understand trauma, the different types of trauma, the causes and effects of trauma, develop communication skills to navigate challenging situations with individuals who have experienced trauma to build trust and rapport, learn strategies to de‐escalate situations, and more. ***Please Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom platform. Internet access and access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend. We kindly request that participants avoid using distracting virtual backgrounds.
