Laura Ornelas, LCSW Description: Parenting children is hard work. Parenting those who have experienced loss and trauma can be even more challenging. Getting the necessary skills will make all the difference for the journey. Believe it or not, one of the critical tools is taking good care of yourself. It’s a win‐win because it benefits you and your family! In this workshop, we’ll be stepping away from the children’s needs to focus on your own. We’ll be talking a bit about the relationship between self care and parenting and doing some reflective activities and gentle movement to allow our minds and bodies to be replenished in healthy ways. Give yourself permission to leave your responsibilities for just a bit and join us. It’ll do you and your loved ones good.
