Online | Stronger Together: Building Trust and Co-Parenting Relationships Through the Lens of QPI
Instructors: Terry Harrak, QPI, MaryAnn Paschal, Resource/Adoptive Parent & Jessica Gunnarson, Resource/Birth Parent
Description: Grounded in the values of the Quality Parenting Initiative (QPI), this training centers the importance of authentic, respectful relationships between birth and resource parents. QPI is rooted in the belief that every child deserves excellent parenting, and achieving that requires strong partnerships among the adults who care for them. When birth and resource parents collaborate, they not only promote healing and stability but also model trust, connection, and child‐centered decision‐making. This session, co‐led by a birth parent and a resource parent, offers a powerful opportunity to learn from those with lived experience and explore how QPI principles can guide co‐parenting relationships. Attendees will explore everyday opportunities to build and strengthen co‐parent relationships, starting with early communication, navigating visitation, and using simple but effective strategies to communicate with care and clarity.
