Online | Strengthening Family Capacity: Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder
Guest Speaker: Dr. Astrid Heger, Executive Director at Violence Prevention Program (VIP), & Professor of Clinical Pediatrics at the University of Southern California Medical Center
Children with FASDs often have problems with learning, attention, memory, and problem solving, along with poor coordination, impulsiveness, and speech and hearing impairments. As kids with FASDs grow up, school behaviors, emotional, and social problems can often get worse. However, building family, parental and community capacity around FASD can help provide more nurturing environments so that children living with FASD can thrive in life!
