Trauma, neglect and multiple attachment disruptions have a negative impact on a child’s developing brain, social, emotional, cognitive and physiological development. A child’s belief system about ‘what happened’ and ‘why’ it happened is important for us to know and understand. For parents and professionals to intervene effectively and create relational healing, we must decode the challenging emotions and behaviors that keep children stuck in fear of emotional intimacy and attachment.
