Description: This session describes the unique characteristics and strengths of attachments between kinship caregivers and their children. Approaches are provided to enhance their attachments as well. Participants will learn to define attachment, types, and the impact of attachment; as well as explain the strengths and advantages of attachments in kinship families and recognize capacities, levels, and degrees of attachment. Lastly, participants will develop approaches for mediating and strengthening attachments.
