Instructors: Representatives from Scripps Mercy Hospital’s Well‐Being Center
Description: This interactive class provides foster parents with a deeper understanding of how foster care experiences can affect a child’s ability to form and maintain healthy attachments. Participants will explore the emotional and developmental impact of disrupted relationships, trauma, and transitions in care. The session will cover key attachment styles, common behaviors related to attachment challenges, and how these may present in children in foster care. Families will also learn evidence‐based strategies to support secure attachment, promote healing, and build trust‐based relationships. The goal is to empower caregivers with tools and insights to create a nurturing, stable environment that fosters emotional growth and connection.
