In Person | Parenting From the Inside Out: Developing Self-Understanding in Parents Can Help Them to Raise Children Who Thrive!
Trainer: Denise Phipps, LMFT
Description: Understanding the reasons why parents act and react in caring for their children can often be traced back to their own childhood experiences. The parent’s own emotional baggage can be triggered by a child’s response and behavior that has more to do with the baggage they carry than with the child’s response.
New findings in neurobiology and attachment research help to explain how interpersonal relationships directly impact the development of the brain and offer parents a step-by-step approach to forming a deeper understanding of their own life stories, which will help them raise compassionate and resilient children.
Whether you are a Resource, Kinship, or Adoptive parent, or a professional working with families, this class, based on the book, Parenting from the Inside Out by Daniel Siegel, M.D., will provide you with new insights for creating or helping families to create foundations for loving and secure relationships with their children.
