Online | Positive Parenting / Positive Discipline: Consequences: Natural or Logical
Meets every 2nd Friday of the Month
***No meeting November – December 2024***
Leader: MaryJo Meer
This support group will focus on positive parenting/discipline. Caregivers will learn that kids are all different and even the best parenting will never create the “perfect child”. Once we understand that there are no perfect parents and no one-size-fits-all approach to parenting kids, only then will we be able to be the best parents we can be.
Description: Have you ever wondered what type of consequence your child’s behavior needs? Did you know there’s a difference between Logical and Natural consequences? Logical consequences are different from Natural Consequences in that they require the intervention of an adult—or other children in a family meeting or a class meeting. It is important to decide what kind of consequence would create a helpful learning experience that might encourage children to choose responsible cooperation. Whether you let a natural consequence unfold or use a logical consequence, children need an opportunity to practice doing the right thing. This quick 2-hour Positive Discipline workshop will help you learn the difference between these types of consequences and when to use them, if at all.
