Online | Bridges to Parenting: Adoption Support: Open Adoptions
Meets every 3rd Wednesday of each month
An opportunity to meet with other prospective adoptive families to share experiences, discuss the adoption process, and support each other during the period awaiting an adoptive placement.
Group Leader: Brook Hernandez
Topic: Open adoption after foster care can be difficult for families to navigate. Adoptive families must consider the safety and well-being of the children as well as the connections the child has with their birth family. Every adoption situation is different, and most foster children will benefit from continuing relationships with healthy and safe birth family members, such as:
- Grandparents
- Aunts or uncles
- Siblings
- Birth Parents
