Parenting a child who has experienced sexual abuse requires special knowledge and skills. It is important to understand that the term sexual abuse describes a wide range of experiences. Many factors affect how children react to abusive or neglectful experiences, as well as how they recover from those experiences. Most children who have been abused do not go on to abuse others, and many go on to live happy, healthy, successful lives. As parents, you will play an important role in your child’s recovery from childhood sexual abuse.

This class will discuss normal sexual development, the special needs of sexualized children, recommended treatment for sexually abused children, and accessing resources.

Registration will close on Thursday, June 24, 2021 at 12pm
