Topic: Caregivers serve as vital advocates and mentors, empowering students in foster care to access essential resources and encouragement. Together, they can transform obstacles into valuable opportunities, paving the way for a brighter future. What we will cover:
- Identify key legal protections under state and federal laws to ensure school stability, immediate enrollment, and access to academic support.
- Learn how to participate actively in educational decisions, communicate effectively with schools and social workers, and uphold the youth’s right to a quality education.
- Discover strategies for overcoming challenges such as school transfers, credit recovery, special education services, and maintaining placement at the school of origin.

Internet access and access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend.
For our support group meetings, all participants must have their cameras on, regardless of whether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to encourage full engagement and connection among participants, fostering a more supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the support group sessions.
We kindly request that participants avoid using distracting virtual backgrounds. For privacy, we recommend using the blur feature instead.
