Internet Safety
Instructor: Kristen Amicone – San Diego Police Foundation
Today, criminal activity is just as likely to be found online as it is on the street. Children have access to websites and apps that expose them to cyberbullying, sexting and even dangerous online predators. The worst part is, you may not know until it’s too late!
In this workshop you will receive tips and tricks to guard your children against online cyberbullying, hacking, scams, and predators. You will also learn best practices for children as they navigate social networks and live their lives online.
Did you know:
- 30% of kids will be cyberbullied before they graduate high school
- 1 in 25 kids will be aggressively pursued by an online predator
- 78% of teens now have cell phones or Internet-enabled smartphones, this is one way cyber criminals enter your child’s life
SafetyNet: Smart Cyber Choices® is an award-winning Internet Safety Program of the San Diego Police Foundation and the San Diego Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
