SUMMARY:Online | The Grief Series with Wendy Kessler - Part 5: Grieving Sty
les - Supporting the Uniqueness of Grief
DESCRIPTION:Six Part Series\nEven though loss is the most universal experie
nce we share\, most people have never learned how to grieve. Our societal
avoidance of grief is what causes us to be stuck in the pain of loss becau
se grieving is how we create a path forward as we process difficult emotio
ns\, adapt to unwanted changes\, develop coping ability\, and build resili
ence. This Grief &amp\; Loss Series is a comprehensive\, six-session cours
e that teaches grieving as an essential life skill\, enables caregivers to
offer grief-informed care\, and equips participants with strategies and
tools to effectively support people living with loss.\n&nbsp\;\n\nInstruc
tor: Wendy Kessler\, Grief Expert\nWendy is a Grief Specialist. She is cre
dentialed as a Fellow in Thanatology (the study of death\, dying\, and ber
eavement) by the Association of Death Education and Counseling and is cert
ified as a Mental Health First Aid Instructor by the National Council for
Mental Wellbeing. Wendy’s approach to grief work is characterized by non
judgmental\, compassionate\, strengths-based counseling and the belief tha
t grieving is an essential life skill that must be learned. Her support se
rvices include individual counseling\, group facilitation\, team training\
, and corporate consulting. When the path forward through loss is uncertai
n\, it helps to have a guide.\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\n\nDescription:While gri
ef is the most universal experience human beings share\, how we process lo
ss and feel supported is highly unique. This session will highlight how pe
rsonality\, temperament\, attachment style\, and culture create our person
al grieving style. Instruction will explain the complications that arise w
hen a person's unique grieving style is unacknowledged\, help participants
understand how their personal grieving style can contribute to unintended
bias\, and highlight best practices for supporting diverse grieving style
s.\n\n\n\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n\n\n\nNote: While you are welcome to register for e
ach individual part\, if you register for part 1 you will automatically be
