DESCRIPTION:Meets 4th Wednesday of the Month\n**no meeting in December**\nS
 upport Group Leader: MaryJo Meer\n\nSupportive Strategies for Resource Ho
 mes- A trauma-informed training and support class for resource parents\, i
 ncluding foster\, kinship\, and adoptive families. This group is a place t
 o come as you are\, connect with people who understand the journey\, share
  real experiences\, and learn practical tools that can help at home. Our g
 oal is for caregivers to leave feeling supported\, encouraged\, and less a
 lone.\n\nTopic: Words have power! Especially for children who are learnin
 g how to see themselves after difficult early experiences. In this class\,
  resource families will discover how positive affirmations can help foster
  children build healthier self-esteem\, develop a more hopeful outlook\, a
 nd begin to believe in their own worth and abilities.\n\nWe will explore h
 ow negative thought patterns can develop\, why many foster children strugg
 le with feelings of guilt\, anger\, hopelessness\, or low self-worth\, and
  how consistent messages of encouragement can help reshape a child’s bel
 ief system. Caregivers will leave with practical\, everyday strategies for
  using affirmation to nurture confidence\, resilience\, and a stronger sen
 se of self in the children they support.\n\nFor our training &amp\; suppor
 t meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless of w
 hether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to enc
 ourage full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a mor
 e supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals
  unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the 
 sessions.\n***Please Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom plat
 form.\n Internet access and access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone 
 is required to attend.\nWe kindly request that participants avoid using di
