  It is important to know that developmental milestones are not met by age
 \; they are developed by experiences. For children who have experienced ab
 use and neglect\, emotional\, social\, cognitive\, and physical developmen
 t may be delayed due to a lack of care and interaction. In this series\, w
 e will look at development within 6 age groups. What it should look like\,
  how you can help with development\, and the resources available to help.\
 n\n 	Middle Childhood (5-11 years)- This age brings many changes. This is 
 a critical time for children to develop confidence in all areas of life\, 
 such as through friends\, schoolwork\, and sports.  Let’s talk about ho
 w to meet the needs of our kids.\n\n***Please Note: This class will be fac
 ilitated on the Zoom platform.\n Internet access and access to a computer/
 laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend.\nFor our support group mee
 tings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless of wheth
 er they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to encoura
 ge full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a more su
 pportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals una
 ble to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the supp
 ort group sessions.\nWe kindly request that participants avoid using distr
 acting virtual backgrounds. For privacy\, we recommend using the blur feat
