 e California Office of the Foster Care Ombudsperson (OFCO) believes that h
 igh-quality Resource Families provide children and youth with new experien
 ces to learn skills\, take advantage of opportunities\, and develop health
 y relationships while growing up in a stable\, loving family and supportiv
 e community. This interactive workshop will help Resource Families build k
 nowledge and apply Reasonable and Prudent\nParent Standards. It will also 
 feature an in-depth session on Foster Youth Rights and include a review of
  federal and state laws as well as key definitions to provide clarity in 
 how current legislation is impacting the foster care community. Lastly\, w
 e’ll feature plenty of real-life scenarios to empower you in making the 
 best choices to meet the unique needs of youth and children you care for. 
 The best Resource Family is a KNOWLEDGEABLE Resource Family. The OFCO is h
 ere to provide tools and be a resource!\n***Please Note: This class will b
 e facilitated on the Zoom platform.\n Internet access and access to a comp
 uter/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend.\nFor our support grou
 p meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless of 
 whether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to en
 courage full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a mo
 re supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individual
 s unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the
  support group sessions.\nWe kindly request that participants avoid using
