DESCRIPTION:Even the healthiest adolescent can drive a parent nuts. That's adolescence! Teens coming from adverse histories can be even more challeng ing. This entertaining session will look at adolescence from a number of p erspectives including developmental\, psychological and biological ‐ and factor in what happens when healthy development is compromised by trauma. Numerous verbal interventions that help parents connect with at‐risk te ens will be introduced\, as well as a host of positive\, strength‐based limit setting strategies. We'll also explore other hot button issues that often arise in the parenting of at‐risk teenagers.
