  Group: Resource Parents as Mandated Reporters
DESCRIPTION:Meets every 2nd Friday of the Month\n **No Meeting February\,
   July &amp\; December**\nSupport Group Leader: MaryAnn Paschal\n\nThis i
 s an ongoing support group to help all types of caregivers\, relatives\, 
 non‐related extended family members (NREFMs)\, and community members nav
 igate the RFA process in their caregiving journey. Discussions will includ
 e RFA pre/post-approval requirements\, how to comply with the County/State
  regulations once certiﬁed as a resource parent\, community resources av
 ailable for children and caregivers\, and how resource parents can build/e
 xpand their support network. Being a resource parent is a rewarding experi
 ence that might come with questions\, so if you want to learn more about t
 hese topics or feel that you can beneﬁt from talking to others with simi
 lar experiences\, please join us.\n\nTopic: The Federal Child Abuse Preven
 tion and Treatment Act (CAPTA) requires each State to have provisions or p
 rocedures for requiring certain individuals to report known or suspected i
 nstances of child abuse and neglect. This workshop will discuss the laws t
 hat designate the groups of professionals that are required to report case
 s of suspected child abuse and neglect and reporting by other persons\, th
 e responsibilities of institutions in making reports\, standards for makin
 g a report\, and the confidentiality of the reporter's identity.\n***Pleas
 e Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom platform.\n Internet ac
 cess and access to a computer/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to atte
 nd.\nFor our support group meetings\, all participants must have their cam
 eras on\, regardless of whether they are seeking credit or not. This requ
 irement is designed to encourage full engagement and connection among part
 icipants\, fostering a more supportive atmosphere within our community. Pl
 ease note that individuals unable to participate with their cameras on wil
 l not be able to join the support group sessions.\nWe kindly request that 
 participants avoid using distracting virtual backgrounds. For privacy\, we
