  Group: Keeping Connections for Life
DESCRIPTION:Meets every 2nd Friday of the Month\n **No Meeting February\,
   July &amp\; December**\nSupport Group Leader: MaryAnn Paschal\n\nThis i
 s an ongoing support group to help all types of caregivers\, relatives\, 
 non‐related extended family members (NREFMs)\, and community members nav
 igate the RFA process in their caregiving journey. Discussions will includ
 e RFA pre/post-approval requirements\, how to comply with the County/State
  regulations once certified as a resource parent\, community resources av
 ailable for children and caregivers\, and how resource parents can build/e
 xpand their support network. Being a resource parent is a rewarding experi
 ence that might come with questions\, so if you want to learn more about t
 hese topics or feel that you can benefit from talking to others with simi
 lar experiences\, please join us.\n\nTopic: This workshop will discuss th
 e importance of keeping important connections in children’s lives. Inclu
 ding how children’s past relationships are important\, thinking about th
 e effects of losing everything on children in foster care\, why keeping s
 afe\, healthy relationships can help children heal\, and rethink openness 
 in adoption and what that looks like.\n***Please Note: This class will be 
 facilitated on the Zoom platform.\n Internet access and access to a comput
 er/laptop/tablet/smartphone is required to attend.\nFor our support group 
 meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless of wh
 ether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to enco
 urage full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a more
  supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals 
 unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the s
 upport group sessions.\nWe kindly request that participants avoid using di
 stracting virtual backgrounds. For privacy\, we recommend using the blur f
