SUMMARY:Online | Positive Parenting / Positive Discipline- Training & Suppo
 rt: Sibling Rivalry
DESCRIPTION:Meets every 2nd Friday of the Month\nLeader: Carrie Collins\n\n
Positive Parenting / Positive Discipline: This class welcomes caregivers i
nto a supportive space to explore positive parenting and discipline. Toget
her\, participants will consider each child’s unique needs and discuss h
ow loving\, thoughtful parenting can guide children without expecting perf
ection. By recognizing that there are no perfect parents-and no single app
roach that works for every child-caregivers can feel encouraged\, understo
od\, and supported as they continue growing in their parenting journey.\n\
nTopic: If you have more than one child\, chances are that you have exper
ienced sibling rivalry in your home.  While sibling rivalry is nothing ne
w\, the level and intensity of it can be exponentially magnified when one
or more of the children in your home has a history of trauma.\n\nTrauma un
dermines a child’s placement in the family system\, and it compromises a
child’s regulatory system. The combination of these can have a devasta
ting effect on the ability of siblings to get along and it can easily dest
roy any sense of peace in a home. Traditional suggestions such as consequ
ences\, time-outs\, and “just letting them work it out” not only do no
t work but can be harmful for families dealing with sibling rivalry at muc
h more intense levels. We will give you positive parenting tools that have
been proven to work to help bring peace within your home.\n\nFor our trai
ning &amp\; support meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on
\, regardless of whether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement
is designed to encourage full engagement and connection among participants
\, fostering a more supportive atmosphere within our community. Please not
e that individuals unable to participate with their cameras on will not be
able to join the sessions.\n***Please Note: This class will be facilitate
d on the Zoom platform.\n Internet access and access to a computer/laptop/
tablet/smartphone is required to attend.\nWe kindly request that participa
nts avoid using distracting virtual backgrounds. For privacy\, we recommen
d using the blur feature instead.\nYou cannot take this class in a vehicle
