  which studies have shown helps reduce stress and promotes wellbeing. In t
 his class students will learn a way of being in the world that fosters bal
 ance and evenness of mind. Mindfulness practices centered on equanimity pr
 omote a stable\, steady and calm mind regardless of outside circumstances.
 \n\nSpecial Guest Presenter: Bettina Heitmann\, Mindfulness Meditation Tea
 cher\nBettina Heitmann is a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness Meditatio
 n Teacher Certification Program\, sponsored by the University of Californi
 a Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced meditation and y
 oga for 20 years and finds these practices to be hugely beneficial for peo
 ple living in this fast paced and high stress society. Bettna was a social
  worker with Child Welfare Services\, including the bilingual Adoptions Un
 it\, and non‐profit social service agencies for 13 years. She has a part
 icular interest in bringing mindfulness teachings to benefit Resource pare
