DESCRIPTION:Part 6 of the Mindfulness series \nMindfulness is the practice
  of being present to one’s experience with loving attention\, which stud
 ies have shown helps reduce stress and promotes well-being.\n\nIn this cla
 ss students will learn to skillfully work with thoughts and incessant thin
 king. Our minds run a mile a minute and we are mostly unaware of how we ge
 t hooked by unwholesome thoughts and take them to be true. Studies have sh
 own that depression and anxiety often relate to the thoughts we believe an
 d let spin out of control. Participants will learn how to strengthen benef
 icial thoughts and diminish harmful thoughts that create mental suffering.
   A private and quiet space is recommended for participation in this cla
 ss as well as a blanket or yoga mat\, chair and loose-fitting clothes.\n\n
 Special Guest Presenter: Bettina Heitmann\, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher
 \nBettina Heitmann is a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness Meditation Te
 acher Certification Program\, sponsored by the University of California Be
 rkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced meditation and yoga 
 for 20 years and finds these practices to be hugely beneficial for people 
 living in this fast paced and high stress society. Bettna was a social wor
 ker with Child Welfare Services\, including the bilingual Adoptions Unit\,
  and non‐profit social service agencies for 13 years. She has a particul
 ar interest in bringing mindfulness teachings to benefit Resource parents 
 and children.\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;\nRegistration will close on Wednesday\,
