DESCRIPTION:Part 1 of the Mindfulness series \nMindfulness is the practice
  of being present to one’s experience with loving attention\, which stud
 ies have shown helps reduce stress and promotes wellbeing. Participants wi
 ll be introduced to a variety of Mindfulness teachings. Students of Mindfu
 lness report greater levels of calm\, peace and contentment as they engage
  with these practices. Each class includes a talk\, guided meditations and
  an invitation to reflect on one’s experience.\n\nSpecial Guest Presente
 r: Bettina Heitmann\, Mindfulness Meditation Teacher\nBettina Heitmann is 
 a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness Meditation Teacher Certification Pr
 ogram\, sponsored by the University of California Berkeley Greater Good Sc
 ience Center. She has practiced meditation and yoga for 20 years and finds
  these practices to be hugely beneficial for people living in this fast pa
 ced and high stress society. Bettna was a social worker with Child Welfare
  Services\, including the bilingual Adoptions Unit\, and non‐profit soci
 al service agencies for 13 years. She has a particular interest in bringin
 g mindfulness teachings to benefit Resource parents and children.\n&nbsp\;
