SUMMARY:Online |Knowledge Exchange- Training & Support: Teaching Children t
 o Appreciate Diversity
DESCRIPTION:Meets every 3rd Tuesday of each month\n**No meeting July**\nLea
der: Lisa de las Alas\n\nKnowledge Exchange-  a friendly\, feel-good spac
 e where foster\, kinship\, and adoptive caregivers can gather\, learn\, la
ugh a little\, and leave with tools they can actually use. This group is a
chance to swap stories\, ask questions\, share “what works\,” and pic
k up practical strategies for supporting children who have experienced tra
uma\, loss\, or big life changes. Come join us\, bring your questions\, an
d enjoy a community that understands the journey and is here to cheer you
on along the way.\n\nTopic: Children notice differences every day\, and t
he way caregivers respond can shape how they understand themselves\, other
s\, and the world around them. This class helps caregivers create welcomin
g\, respectful environments where children learn that every person is uniq
ue and worthy of dignity. Together\, we will explore how to talk with chil
 dren about race\, ethnicity\, culture\, ability\, beliefs\, identity\, fam
ily background\, and other differences in ways that encourage curiosity\,
kindness\, and confidence. Whether you are supporting a child at home\, in
care\, or in the community\, this class will give you tools to nurture em
pathy\, belonging\, and appreciation for the many cultures and experiences
that make each person’s story meaningful.\n\nFor our training &amp\; su
pport meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless
of whether they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to
encourage full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a
more supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individ
uals unable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join
the sessions.\n***Please Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom
