SUMMARY:Online | Coffee Talk- Training & Support: Surviving the Holidays
DESCRIPTION:Meets every 2nd Monday of each month\n**No meeting in July**\nL
eader: Lisa de las Alas\n\nCoffee Talk- is a welcoming space for caregiver
s to come together\, connect with others\, and receive encouragement in th
eir foster\, kinship\, or adoptive parenting journey. This group offers ti

and supportive guidance in a relaxed setting. Caregivers are invited to b
ring their questions\, learn helpful tools\, and build community with othe
rs who understand the joys and challenges of caring for children and famil
ies.\n\nTopic: The holiday season can be joyful\, but for children in fost
er care it can also bring complicated feelings\, added stress\, and remind
ers of family\, faith\, and traditions that may feel different from those
around them. This workshop helps caregivers better understand what foster
children may experience during the holidays and how to create a season tha
 t feels thoughtful\, respectful\, and emotionally supportive.\n\nTogether\
, we will explore how grief\, sadness\, religious differences\, family tra
ditions\, and competing expectations can affect foster children\, resource
families\, and birth families during this time of year. You’ll leave wi
th practical strategies for planning ahead\, honoring a child’s own fait
h and traditions\, reducing holiday stress\, and helping everyone involved
  feel seen\, respected\, and included.\n\nFor our training &amp\; support
meetings\, all participants must have their cameras on\, regardless of whe
ther they are seeking credit or not. This requirement is designed to encou
rage full engagement and connection among participants\, fostering a more
supportive atmosphere within our community. Please note that individuals u
nable to participate with their cameras on will not be able to join the se
ssions.\n***Please Note: This class will be facilitated on the Zoom platfo
