DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Michelle McGowan\, Special Education Advocate\n\nMi
 chelle is a dedicated Special Education Advocate with over 20 years of exp
 erience supporting students with disabilities\, including Autism\, ADHD\, 
 Dyslexia\, Emotional Disturbance\, and Intellectual Impairment. She is als
 o involved in the District Attorney’s Juvenile Diversion Initiative\, wh
 ere she works to keep youth diploma-bound\, collaborates with schools to o
 verturn expulsions\, and empowers parents to understand their children’s
  educational rights.\n\nDescription: Behavioral challenges can have signif
 icant educational consequences if families are not aware of their rights. 
 This workshop explores Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBAs)\, Behavior
  Intervention Plans (BIPs)\, discipline protections under IDEA\, Manifesta
 tion Determination Reviews (MDRs)\, and what parents should know about sus
 pensions and removals. Practical de-escalation strategies for home will al
 so be discussed.\nInterested in learning more about special education?This
