DESCRIPTION:Part of The Domestic Violence Series\n\nIt is often believed th
 at intimate partners are the only victims of domestic violence. However\, 
 children can also be involved and are victims. Out of 100 reported cases o
 f domestic violence in San Diego\, 37% of them involved children. Child We
 lfare Services (CWS) has seen first‐hand how domestic violence can impac
 t families. In 32.8% of the family assessments made by CWS in 2017\, domes
 tic violence was a factor.\nThere are many forms to domestic violence. Und
 erstanding the diﬀerent types of abusive acts and the impacts it can hav
 e on the victims psychologically can help to better support those families
  with more care\, compassion and understanding.\nGuest Speaker: Dr. Vaness
 a Rodriguez\, VMR Therapy\nDr. Vanessa Rodriguez is the founder of VMR The
 rapy\, Safe Solutions and Tac Talk. In addition\, she is a police psycholo
 gist\, licensed marriage &amp\; family therapist\, clinical supervisor\, c
 ourt expert and international certified domestic violence trainer. Dr. Rod
 riguez is recognized as one of the lead specialists in Domestic Violence\,
  First Responder Treatment\, Suicide Prevention and Critical Incidents (Sh
 ootings\, Infant &amp\; Child Deaths\, Overdoses\, etc.). Agencies which D
 r.\nRodriguez works with include Child Protective Services (CPS) and State
  &amp\; Local Law Enforcement Agencies. Dr. Rodriguez is committed to cont
 inuing to create fresh\, advanced and innovative ways of treatment methods

 understanding domestic violence can help to better understand the victim/s
  and even the perpetrator. This workshop is the introduction to the Domest
