DESCRIPTION:Instructor: Michelle McGowan\, Special Education Advocate\n\nMi
 chelle is a dedicated Special Education Advocate with over 20 years of exp
 erience supporting students with disabilities\, including Autism\, ADHD\, 
 Dyslexia\, Emotional Disturbance\, and Intellectual Impairment. She is als
 o involved in the District Attorney’s Juvenile Diversion Initiative\, wh
 ere she works to keep youth diploma-bound\, collaborates with schools to o
 verturn expulsions\, and empowers parents to understand their children’s
  educational rights.\n\nDescription:Effective advocacy begins with clear c
 ommunication and preparation. This workshop provides practical tools to he
 lp caregivers communicate with school teams\, document concerns\, prepare 
 for difficult meetings\, and navigate disagreements constructively. Partic
 ipants will learn strategies for staying calm under pressure while advocat
 ing confidently for their child's educational needs.\n\n&nbsp\;\n\n&nbsp\;
