 , San Marcos &amp\;  Foster\, Adoptive and Kinship Care Education Program
  Grossmont College\nInstructors: ACE Scholars Staff\, CSUSM\nDescription: 
 This workshop aims to empower caregivers to discuss the value of higher ed
 ucation with the youth in their care and provide ideas for how they can pl
 ay an active role in supporting their youth to college. Because when they 
 do\, research shows that youth are 4 times more likely to pursue higher ed
 ucation. For caregivers with youth in middle school or in the early high s
 chool grades\, college can seem so far into the future that it can take se
 condary importance to more immediate concerns. Caregivers and youth will l
 earn from campus foster youth program staff the significance of early coll
 ege exploration\, preparation\, and  key steps to help turn their dreams 
 into degrees. \nThis training is open to all Caregivers and they are enco
 uraged to come with their Youth in 6th to 12th grade. \n** In the registra
