SUMMARY:In Person | The Art of Self Care
DESCRIPTION:A guide for 2024\nSelf care is a form of art. Incorporating a t
 ime for self care into our daily routine makes a real difference in terms
  of our mental\, physical and emotional well‐being. As caretakers of chi
 ldren and youth it is particularly important that we also take care of our
 selves. Having a regular self care practice helps not only to reduce stres
 s\, but also improves our overall health\, lives and relationships with ot
 hers. We will practice ways of taking care of ourselves that foster a sens
 e of well‐being\, happiness and gratitude and benefit our interpersonal
  relationships.\nAll Resource parents are encouraged to join us for a half
  day of self care to nourish our bodies\, minds and hearts. Practices incl
 ude gentle yoga stretches and qigong movements\, guided relaxations and me
 ditations. It also includes opportunities for meaningful sharing with one 
 another and learning from each other about self care.\nFacilitated by Bett
 ina Heitmann\n\nBettina Heitmann is a graduate of the 2‐year Mindfulness
  Meditation Teacher Certification Program\, sponsored by the University o
 f California Berkeley Greater Good Science Center. She has practiced medit
 ation and yoga for 20 years and finds these practices to be hugely bene
 ficial for people living in this fast paced and high stress society.\nBet
 tina was a social worker with Child Welfare Services\, including the bilin
 gual Adoptions Unit\, and non‐profit social service agencies for 13 yea
 rs. She has a particular interest in bringing mindfulness teachings to ben
