DESCRIPTION:A More Knowledgeable You!\nFitness for Fostering Fridays will b
 e opportunities for Resource Parents to attend workshops mini‐ conferenc
 e style held on Fridays to help enhance their family's fitness and capacit
 y for fostering children from out of home placement. Workshops will be lea
 d by local\, state or national expert guest speakers.\nFitness for Fosteri
 ng Fridays is also an opportunity for Resource Parents to meet with other 
 families\, receive support and make long lasting connections. Resource Par
 ents will have the opportunity to attend workshops either in the morning\,
  afternoon or both if they choose.\n\nSession 2| Use the Force\, Luke! Man
 aging Number 1 First &amp\; Staying Motivated to Do the Job\nThis training
  examines the major triggers and provides strategies for self‐management
  that keep enthusiasm alive. Focal points include: how to respond instead 
 of react when personalizing difficult interactions\, the need to check per
 sonal baggage at the door\, the pivotal role of support and how to “Do y
 our job” when it is lacking\, understanding and mitigating staff “spl
 itting” and staying cohesive\, and a new\, uplifting definition for succ
 ess in working with at‐risk populations.\nTrainer: Charlie Appelstein\, 
 MSW \n\nCharlie Appelstein worked in the field for more than 30 years wit
 h youth in residential treatment. Today he is described as "the best youth
  care trainer in America" and author to critically acclaimed books. He has
  devoted his entire adult career to helping children and youth struggling 
 with emotional and behavioral challenges and those who guide them. An enga
 ging\, informative\, and humorous speaker\, Charlie's strength‐based app
 roach delivers a message of hope and possibility to our most vulnerable yo
 uth and those who shape and influence their lives.\n* Lunch Provided*\nSep
 arate registration is required for each individual workshop. Childcare is
