DESCRIPTION:A More Knowledgeable You!\nFitness for Fostering Fridays will b
 e opportunities for Resource Parents to attend workshops mini‐ conferenc
 e style held on Fridays to help enhance their family's fitness and capacit
 y for fostering children from out of home placement. Workshops will be lea
 d by local\, state or national expert guest speakers.\nFitness for Fosteri
 ng Fridays is also an opportunity for Resource Parents to meet with other 
 families\, receive support and make long lasting connections. Resource Par
 ents will have the opportunity to attend workshops either in the morning\,
  afternoon or both if they choose.\n\nSession 2| More than a One Time Even
 t: Aﬃrming Children's Identities\nThis is a presentation that combines l
 ived and professional experiences from a transracial adoptee and child wel
 fare professional that guides attendees through the formation of racial an
 d cultural identity. This presentation goes beyond talking about the impor
 tance of honoring race and cultural diﬀerences and provides practical to
 ols for parents as they help their families embrace complexities and prepa
 re for challenges.\nTrainers: Barb Clark &amp\; Nathan Ross from National 
 Adoption Coalition for Adoptable Children\n \n(NACAC). Nathan is a lived e
 xperience former foster youth and author of "Mourning After the Storm" wor
 king to transform the lives of children by educating parents and professio
 nals. Barb Clark is an adoptive parent to 4 children who trains parents an
 d professionals in hopes of providing better outcomes for children impacte
 d by foster care.\n* Lunch Provided*\nSeparate registration is required fo
