DESCRIPTION:Guest Speaker: Shor Denny\, CEO Community Now\n\nShor Denny\, f
 ounder of Community Now = Positive Change\, developed innovative programs 
 like GET PLUGGED IN and Me\, Myself &amp\; Mine to address the long-term i
 mpacts of Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) on children. Drawing from h
 er personal journey with childhood trauma\, Shor created these initiatives
  to foster resilience and mental well-being in children\, teaching them ho
 w to respond positively to challenges. Recognizing that many families may 
 lack the tools to build resilience\, Community Now fills this gap by empow
 ering children to develop healthy coping skills and a hopeful outlook on l
 ife.\nDescription:During this hands‐on workshop participants will better
  understand how to support youth to have stronger confident identities by 
 learning how to care for multi‐ethnic hair in order to teach their youth
  how to care for and appreciate their own natural hair.\nFor this class on
 ly\, Resource Parents are encouraged to bring their youth (limit one youth
  per family due to space) to work on their hair. Please bring hair product
 s currently being used at home.
