Type of Class
The holidays can be a stressful time for foster children, resource parents, and birth families. Holidays should be filled with happiness and joy. Unfortunately, for some kids in foster care, this is not the case. Happiness and joy are sometimes replaced by anxiety and frustration. This class will discuss understanding a foster youth’s complex perspective and emotions regarding the holidays, how to identify signs of grief a child may exhibit during the holidays, and what caregivers can do to maintain their family traditions while ensuring their foster children do so as well.
