Restorative Practices is a social science that studies how to build social capital and achieve social discipline through participatory learning and decision-making.

The use of Restorative Practices helps to:

  • Reduce crime, violence, and bullying
  • Improve human behavior
  • Strengthen civil society
  • Provide effective leadership
  • Restore relationships
  • Repair harm

Restorative Justice is a subset of Restorative Practices. Restorative Justice is reactive, consisting of formal or informal responses to crime and other wrongdoing after it occurs. Restorative Justice sees crime as more than breaking the law. Crime causes harm to people, relationships, and the community. Restorative Justice emphasizes repairing the harm that is the result of crimes. Please join us to learn more about how Restorative Justice and Practices is being practiced in our communities and how you can support youth in successfully repairing the harm caused by their acts.
