Project Life: Living In Freedom from Exploitation
Instructor: Holly Kempler, ASW, PPS, Prevention & Intervention Specialist- Project LIFE
Participants will learn how to define elements of child labor trafficking and commercial sexual exploitation of children. Caregivers will also learn about vulnerabilities making youth more susceptible to being targeted for trafficking and grooming tactics/recruitment strategies used to lure youth into trafficking. Participants will learn to identify red flags for youth who may be involved in trafficking.
Presenters will teach caregivers strategies they may use to keep youth from being exploited and steps to take if they are concerned a youth they know may be involved in trafficking. The workshop will be provided by Project LIFE, an advocacy program located in San Diego County that serves all human trafficking victims regardless of age, gender, gender identity, country of origin, or the specific type of trafficking.
